Know Before You Go

Explore Your Future in Health Care Careers

We’re excited to have you and your students attend the Explore Your Future in Health Care career exploration event. Please review the following information prior to attending:

  • Location: Kauffman Foundation Conference Center
    4801 Rockhill Rd., Kansas City, MO 64110

    Bus Parking & Directions
    Students will arrive and depart from the Kauffman Foundation parking lot on the west side of Rockhill Rd. Students will cross Rockhill Rd., and enter the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center for the event. 

    All buses are required to use the far west side of the lot if parking. 

    Plan extra time ahead or after your scheduled session for students to experience additional simulation activities in the parking lot.

  • Remind students that this is an experiential event and to refrain from bringing anything to the event that they have to carry.

  • Please do not bring any outside food or beverages into the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. Water will be provided.

  • If waitlisted, when will I receive confirmation of movement? Registration will be final 10 days prior to the event.

    What if I need to change my time? Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate adjustments due to waitlists.

    What other ways can I engage with industry partners? Consider participating in one of our other Future Pathway events.

Session Format

Welcome (15 minutes)
Introduction of the event with a dream capture exercise and instruction on how to successfully navigate the activities.

Hands-On Exploration (45 minutes)
Complete five activities throughout the event and receive stamps at each station to receive a prize.

Next Steps Exploration (15 minutes)
Identify next steps to meet students’ short and long-term career pathway goals, including classes, programs and clubs, post-secondary options, volunteer opportunities, internships and employment. 

Check Out (15 minutes)
Show completed activities to receive a prize. Exit the conference center and walk back to buses.
